Lampwork Glass Classes Tailored to your needs
Private classes: $60 per hour.Semi-Private classes: $100 per hour, designed for two people coming together ($50 each per hour). You will not be placed with strangers.Night Out/Birthday Party: 4 person max $ 100 per hour. Taking turns 2 at a time working while two observe.Hands on Glass Experience: 1.5 to 2 hours. Perfect for someone not wishing to take regular weekly classes. 10 and older.Payment:Cash: in person on the day of your class, PayPal ,Venmo, Credit card: Scroll down to use the PayPal Pay Now button for any visa and mastercard, no PayPal account is necessary. Credit cards are also accepted in person at the time of your class. Please put the total amount for your class in the quantity box and hit update.Ie: For a 3 hour private class put 180 in the quantity box and click update. For a 3 hour semi-private class, with 2 people, each person needs to put 150 (50 per hour per person) in the quantity box and click update.if paying together put in $300 in the quantity box and click update. Adjust times and amounts accordingly.Ensure the total amount is correct for the type of class and hours you will attend.

Beginer classes are perfect to introduce you to flameworking. Both lampwork bead and borosilicate glass classes are available. I can also help you on your way to building your own studio or renting time at my studio to practice once you have demonstrated a safe working knowledge of the equipment. Ongoing classes available to those 16 and older. Intermediate classes are geared towards teaching existing artists new skills or familiarizing a beginner with lampworking over a period of time thus preparing them to practice in their own studio. I will help in any way I can to give you the information you need to set up a safe studio. My main focus is sculpture, both solid and blown. I will introduce basic beads and sculptural beads as well, on going students will work towards hollow forms.
Private and Semi-Private classes at my Central Islip studio in Long Island NY.
45 minutes east of Manhattan, exit 57 from the Long Island Expressway (495), Exit 44E from Sunrise Highway or 43A on Southern State Pkwy. The Great River stop on the Long Island Rail Road, Montuak branch, is 1 hour from Manhattan and only a few minutes from the studio. Or Ronkonkoma line to last stop.

Student Studio Rental Lampworking (At my home studio):$30 per person per hour, includes CLEAR GLASS ONLY, aim clambshell kiln firing (14 inch octagon), tools and safety equipment use.$10 extra per session for use of paragon 240 guillotine door kiln. (18 inch cube) Unsupervised rental is only available to my students who have taken weekly/frequent on going classes with me over time. I determine when each student is ready to use the equipment unsupervised. It varies on the students attention to detail and safety and comfort level with all of the equipment. Supervised rental for on going students: 40 per hour. Non instructional supervision and help with equipement use. Experienced lampworkers welcome to rent on a case by case basis, with prior approval. This will be based on proficiency with equipment and skill level to be determined before rental time. Call for more information 631-446-1699 Studio rental for lampworking will be on a GTT Phantom or Red Max torch. Kiln Firing Available for past lampworking students after classes have ended that need to fire work and have yet to purchase a kiln. $10 each for the top loading kiln and $15 per firing for the front loading kiln.
Plan for your on going lampworking sessions to be a minimum of 2-3 hours in order to have enough time to learn some basics and then actually make a sculpture, pendant or beads.
If you wish to learn both types of glass, I usually schedule the first class in borosilicate glass (like Pyrex TM and your bakeware) and the second class in soda lime glass (soft or bead glass). This can be adjusted according to your needs or desire to only work in one type of glass.
My time schedule is flexible to meet your needs. Classes are available between 12-10 pm.

cotton or natural fiber clothing, closed shoes, no cuffs on pants
Any recording devices you want: camera, paper etc...
You may bring samples of your work to show me your attempts that you need help figuring out, if that's what your class is for.
If you’re already working in glass please email me a link to or photos of some of your work, if possible, so I can get a better idea of your starting point to help make the class content appropriate for your skill level.
You will be working on a GTT Mirage, GTT Phantom or Nortel Red Max torch on liquid or tanked oxygen and using either a digitally controlled Paragon 240 or Aim kiln.
Class Feedback: Diane Brzeski of Virginia states: “I have been glassworking for a little over a year, starting with beads, then marbles and then I tried my hand at small sculptures. They continually fell apart where they had been joined. I found Ro’s sculptures on line and wrote asking if I could take a class. Well, that was a call I will always be glad I made.
